Hearing Set For Drownings at SC Pool

Hearing Set For Drownings at SC Pool

A date has been set for a formal inquest into how two teenagers died at a Darlington Pool earlier this month.

The inquest revolves around the deaths of Timquan McAllister, 13, and Justin McKay, 13, who were both found at the bottom of a city public pool after lifeguards cleared the water for bad weather.

The Darlington coroner's office and the pool management team are both doing a full investigation into what lead to the drowning deaths. The findings will help avoid a pool accident like this in the future. The city's investigation is on hold until the coroner can interview witnesses and make a determination as to how the youths died.

Parents and families will be devastated by any findings, and some may seek to find a responsible party. The Doan Law Firm, P.C., led by a Houston personal injury attorney, has substantial experience in water-related injury and death litigation. 1. After an accident, the responsible party's insurance company may try to reduce the claim amount. Commonly, insurance adjusters are trained to get information from the injured to assist in reducing the claim. Though some insurers are less guilty of this practice than others, it is important to realize that insurance companies are profit-oriented corporations and reducing claims results in increased profits for shareholders. This can create a situation for the injured in which they are offered a settlement that does not truly reflect the damages suffered. If you accept this settlement, you lose the ability to get more money should your injuries require further medical treatments. It is critical that victims get legal assistance in any personal injury case, and The Doan Law Firm is prepared to fight relentlessly for your rights.
