New Jersey Man Electrocuted on Roofing Job

Posted By Houston Injury Attorney || 28-May-2010

A Bucks County, New Jersey man died after a ladder he had been using for a roofing and siding job hit power lines last month.

Pawel Pieklo, 52, of Trenton, had just about finished his job at a Delran, Burlington County apartment complex on Route 130, when a ladder on which he was working touched overhead wires about 4:30 p.m., arcing electrical current through his body

Another worker, and Jiri Niederle, 41, of Morrisville, Pa. tried to assist Pieklo. Niederle failed to remove Pieklo from the current, injuring himself in the process. Niederle was in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital after suffering electrical burns. Pieklo was pronounced dead at the scene.

AIM Construction LLP of Morrisville allegedly employed the two men, who were working at building 17 of the Hunters Glen Apartments.

After an accident, the responsible party's insurance company may try to reduce the claim amount. Commonly, insurance adjusters are trained to get information from the injured to assist in reducing the claim. Though some insurers are less guilty of this practice than others, it is important to realize that insurance companies are profit-oriented corporations and reducing claims results in increased profits for shareholders. This can create a situation for the injured in which they are offered a settlement that does not truly reflect the damages suffered. If you accept this settlement, you lose the ability to get more money should your injuries require further medical treatments. It is critical that victims get legal assistance in any personal injury case, and The Doan Law Firm is prepared to fight relentlessly for your rights.
