An Oregon man died earlier this month at a Douglas County Forest Products mill in Winchester when he fell from a catwalk into the mill while working.
The man, identified by family members as Holger Fussel of the Green District in Roseburg, Oregon, was taken to Mercy Medical Center after he reportedly fell into the mill and got tangled in a chain just before 8:30 a.m. He later died.
The mill was shut down while the investigation continued, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) investigators were also on the scene to gather more information on the accident. The investigation is continuing.
