Off-Duty Chicago Officer Killed by Thieves

Chicago police officer Thomas Wortham IV was murdered last month by a group of three youths who tried to steal his new motorcycle. Wortham, who was reportedly at his parents’ home when he was approached by the suspects, tried to stop them from taking the motorcycle. Four Years In Prison for Man Guilty of Vehicular Homicide

A Marengo, Ohio man was sentenced to four years in prison for aggravated vehicular homicide in Knox County Common Pleas Court last month. Lester A. Moore, 37, was convicted of aggravated vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in the death of Connie Fyffe. Moore was sentenced to a four-year prison term, and his driver’s license was suspended for 10 years. He was also ordered to pay $18,306 in restitution to the crime victim’s family. Reports…

Civilian Killed on Military Base in Motorcycle-SUV Crash

A 61-year-old worker at the joint military base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst was killed last month in a  motorcycle accident involving the motorcycle he was driving and an SUV, according to base authorities. The incident, which is still under investigation, occurred on Range Road at about 7:20 a.m. and resulted in no other reported injuries.
