Three days before Thanksgiving last year, Taylor Woodall rode north on Interstate 985 on his Honda CBR 1000 RR motorcycle, a friend following in a Ford Mustang. About a mile north of Ga. Chicago police officer Thomas Wortham IV was murdered last month by a group of three youths who tried to steal his new motorcycle. Wortham, who was reportedly at his parents’ home when he was approached by the suspects, tried to stop them from taking the motorcycle. Wortham’s father, a retired Chicago police sergeant, came to his son’s aid, killing one attacker and critically wounding another. A third was able to escape. A Marengo, Ohio man was sentenced to four years in prison for aggravated vehicular homicide in Knox County Common Pleas Court last month. Lester A. Moore, 37, was convicted of aggravated vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol in the death of Connie Fyffe. Moore was sentenced to a four-year prison term, and his driver’s license was suspended for 10 years. He was also ordered to pay $18,306 in restitution to the crime victim’s family. Reports…

A 61-year-old worker at the joint military base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst was killed last month in a  motorcycle accident involving the motorcycle he was driving and an SUV, according to base authorities. The incident, which is still under investigation, occurred on Range Road at about 7:20 a.m. and resulted in no other reported injuries.
