Houston police continue to investigate a fatal traffic accident in the 5800 block of San Felipe that occurred about 11:55 a.m. on Friday, January 1st.

Reports say a gray Dodge Charger was traveling westbound on San Felipe at a high rate of speed when the driver ran a red light. After crossing into oncoming traffic, the driver hopped the curb and struck a tree. The driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was involved in the accident.
