Booster Seat Recall Expanded

Booster Seat Recall Expanded

A recall involving some 400,000 Circo Child Booster Seats has been issued as of May, 2011, reports say.

Reports say the seat has a restraint buckle that may open unexpectedly, allowing a child to fall from the chair and be injured. To date, Target has received 10 additional reports of booster seat buckles opening unexpectedly, including three reports of bumps and/or bruises when a child fell forward out of the booster seat and hit either an object or the floor.

The recall of the seats was implemented by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, reports say and involves the Circo Child Booster seats, which were manufactured in China and imported and sold at Target stores nationwide from January 2005 through June 2009, reports say. The seats are blue with green trim and a white plastic restraint buckle. The words "Circo" and "Booster Seat" can be found on a green label located in the front of the seat.

CPSC officials are advising consumers to discontinue use of the affected seats and return them to any Target store for a full refund.

During the investigation, the families of those who purchased the seats will likely have questions. 1. After an accident, the responsible party's insurance company may try to reduce the claim amount. Commonly, insurance adjusters are trained to get information from the injured to assist in reducing the claim. Though some insurers are less guilty of this practice than others, it is important to realize that insurance companies are profit-oriented corporations and reducing claims results in increased profits for shareholders. This can create a situation for the injured in which they are offered a settlement that does not truly reflect the damages suffered. If you accept this settlement, you lose the ability to get more money should your injuries require further medical treatments. It is critical that victims get legal assistance in any personal injury case, and The Doan Law Firm is prepared to fight relentlessly for your rights.
