Owens-Corning Asphalt Accident Leaves Two Hospitalized

A pair of workers at the Owens Corning Plant in Kansas City, Kansas was injured last month as a result of an equipment malfunction while the men unloaded asphalt.

Emergency services from Kansas City, Kansas were called out to address the situation at 8 a.m. to attend to the two employees, who had suffered critical burn injuries from the hot asphalt and were transported to a hospital.

Hot asphalt can be as high as 450 degrees, and reports said the two employees were critically burnt by the asphalt during off loading process. Equipment malfunction reportedly caused asphalt to be spewed onto the employees and crews were able to evacuate the injured from the area. Other employees at the plant helped the firefighters.
