Pedestrian Killed

A driver of a Lexus struck and killed and unidentified 57-year-old man who was crossing the street at North Beale Road west of Yuba Community College in Sacramento, reports say.

Pablo Arredondo, 25, of Yuba City, reportedly stated that he saw the man cross the road an instant before striking him with his Lexus. Reports also say that he swerved to avoid hitting the man, but was unsuccessfully. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, reports say.

Reports also say that Arredondo was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
