Three Killed in Tragic Scaffolding Collapse at Port Arthur LNG

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 29, a devastating scaffolding collapse at the Port Arthur LNG construction site in Sabine Pass, Texas, took the lives of three workers and left two injured. The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. at the LNG facility, where hundreds of workers are on-site 24 hours a day.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the collapse happened on a scaffolding system near a large concrete tank. Two of the workers died at the scene and a third, identified as a 41-year-old Houston resident, died at the hospital. While the exact cause of the incident remains under investigation, early reports suggest there was a possible rigging failure or structural issue in the scaffolding system.

All work at the site has been suspended as The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and OSHA are conducting thorough investigations.
