Lack of Seatbelts May Have Killed Austin Driver

Derrick Miller, 33, driving a 2002 Black Lincoln Navigator was traveling southbound in the 5800 block of Ed Bluestein in Austin at a high rate of speed when the Lincoln left the roadway, struck the guardrail on the west curb line, and rolled several times.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Speed may have been a factor in the accident. Austin Police are still investigating and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-4724.
