Reports say a white 2009 Acura traveling northbound on Northland Dr. reportedly ran the red light at the intersection of Northland Dr. and Balcones Dr. as a tan 1997 Ford, driven by Federico Orozco, entered the intersection and was struck by the Acura. Austin Police Officers responded to a crash in the 10800 block of Metric Blvd late last month involving a motorcycle that was traveling south bound on Metric Boulevard. An early-morning accident has left one man dead and another hospitalized in Central Austin. Reports say an Austin patrol officer came upon the accident just after 2:15 a.m. Monday, finding a car that had crashed into a light pole on Riverside, near I-35.
